Local
Broadcasters Fight Back Against Clear Channel
Friday,
June 18, 2004
A coalition of low-powered radio operators has struck back against what they
say are bogus claims by broadcasting giant Clear Channel Communications and
now have the backing of two powerful Senators (John McCain and Patrick Leahy).
In recent years, Clear Channel, with the help of the National Association of
Broadcasters, has successfully blocked small locally-owned radio stations from
obtaining FCC licenses by making what has now been proven to be false
statements regarding signal leakage. For more info,

Hotel Blames Victims of
Elevator Mishap
Tuesday,
June 15, 2004
In a stunning development, the Hotel Carmel in Santa Monica has blamed the
victims of a recent elevator mishap for causing the incident. "There was
no load limit posted," said
"Communication
Breakdown"
star Jasmin
St. Claire, who was trapped in the enclosed space with seven
other people for more than a half hour Friday night. "There was no
inspection notice. There was nothing. We have the entire thing on videotape.
The hotel is in the wrong." St. Claire, co-star Brian
Heffron, "Communication
Breakdown"
producer Linda
Jean Marlowe, "Sinkhole" director Paul Schattel, and
"Sinkhole" actors Bryan Marshall and Tera Kirk were among the group
that got stuck between floors Friday night following a screening of Schattel's
acclaimed film about sex, drugs, and political corruption at the Dances With

Breakdowners Trapped in Elevator
Saturday,
June 12, 2004
In a scene straight out of an Irwin Allen disaster movie,
"Communication
Breakdown"
stars Brian
Heffron and Jasmin
St. Claire, along with one of the film's producers, Linda
Jean Marlowe, were trapped in a non-air conditioned elevator inside the
Hotel Carmel in Santa Monica, California, for over half an hour Friday night.
They were freed when Santa Monica police and fire department personnel arrived
on the scene. Also in the elevator at the time were director Paul Schattel and
actors Bryan Marshall and Tera Kirk (from the acclaimed independent film
"Sinkhole"). The group had just returned from dinner following the
world premiere of Schattel's flick at the Dances With Films festival when the

Discover Strange Hometown Connection
Saturday,
June 5, 2004
Richard
O'Sullivan, John
Edmonds, and Greg Thompson grew up within a few short miles of one another
but never met. "It was a small town environment, where everyone is
supposed to have at least heard of one another, but our paths never
crossed," said O'Sullivan. As it turns out, the
"Communication
Breakdown"
Director's mother was friends with Thompson's cousin but the two men didn't
come in contact until the actor (from TV's "One Tree Hill" and
"Dawson's Creek;" and the upcoming Dale Earnhardt biopic,
"3") starred in the film "AfterLife,"
which was penned by
O'Sullivan. "I didn't know about the connection until Greg was on the set
filming his scenes." A similar situation involved O'Sullivan's CB
Co-Producer John
Edmonds. The filmmakers only discovered that they hailed from
the same hometown a couple of days before production on the quirky comedy
began. To read a recent newspaper article detailing the trio of
